What I’ve Always Wanted

To wake up with your hair tangled in my face,
Warm water in the bathtub,
Golden light falling in sun flecked streaks on the lake,
Birds of every kind singing in the trees,
Your smile at midnight,
An all-day pass on all the rides,
One more inning,
Before the sun goes down,
And that last half-awake dream before I have to go to bed.
